Who we are

Gastronomy (derived from the Greek words “gastri” = “stomach” and “nomos” = “law”) means in the German language a branch of the catering sector, which consists in serving commercially food and beverages in restaurants and inns. The gastronomy is a service sector.

”Passion” means an overwhelming emotion which seizes entirely the mind and which induces to pursue intensely certain goals.

This is what the dictionary tells us about it …

But what does it mean for us?

We run our inns and restaurants with much commitment, with much love, with much ….
We seek not only to satisfy the guests, but also to have  guests who like to come again,
guests who remember their stay always with pleasure and tell their friends at home of it.
We seek to provide diversified services, which cater for any taste, and to offer a suitable place for any occasion.


And what does this mean for you?

When you simply would like to taste the Bavarian cuisine being on a journey, we suggest you our Country Inn “Zur Post” with the cutlet specialities of its restaurant “Schnitzel-Kini” (cutlet king). When you want to escape from a traffic jam on the motorway looking urgently for a cosy room by the road preferably in a traditional ambience we recommend you the Hotel “Alter Wirt” with its restaurant. You are on a bicycle trip through the Alpine foothills of Upper Bavaria, yearning for a little break in a beer garden under chestnut trees and for a perfectly cooled beer? Well, in our inn “Bräustüberl Maxlrain” we serve you a fresh beer brewed according to the Bavarian “purity rules”.  When you are very busy wishing to have a quick healthy meal, there is our Restaurant “Waitzinger Bräu” at Miesbach where you will be served at the salad bar which offers all what you might expect.

You are in the mood for a party? Then you are welcome in the newly refurbished banqueting hall of the Country Inn “Neukirchen” which has a capacity of up to 300 persons.                               Or do you prefer a somewhat more elegant ambience after a visit to the theatre, where to savour a delicious dinner followed by a drink at the bar? Then we recommend you the restaurant of the “Kurhaus Bad Tölz” ...

and so on … In our houses, which cater for the most varied tastes, you will for sure find the right place for any occasion according to your wishes.

The business “Gastronomy by passion” consists of six entities which are divided legally into two companies (ltd). Mr. Andreas Büscher is the proprietor of all houses. He was born in 1971 near Hamburg and came to Bavaria already in 1991 in order to learn here, far from the gastronomic business of the parents, all what is required to become a good restaurant manager. Mr. Büscher is a trained hotel manager and cook as well as a graduate in business management.
He was trained at the Restaurant “Käfer” in Munich and at the Hotel “Eden-Wolf”, etc. In 1999 he got finally self-employed at Weyarn, where he took over the Hotel & Country Inn “Alter Wirt”.

All the acquired experience and knowledge helps him today to recruit his staff.
Each of the houses has its own manager, each of whom with a distinctive personality and background in accordance with the character of the houses. All of them are in any case working with passion.
